Dual Axis XY Joystick Module for Arduino – PS2-Style Analog Control Stick for DIY Electronics, Game Projects & Robotics
Dual Axis XY Joystick Module for Arduino – PS2-Style Analog Control Stick for DIY Electronics, Game Projects & Robotics
The Dual Axis XY Joystick Module is a versatile and easy-to-use input device modeled after the analog stick of a PlayStation 2 (PS2) controller. It provides analog voltage output corresponding to X and Y axis movement, as well as a digital switch function when the joystick is pressed down (Z-axis button press).
This module is ideal for projects requiring manual directional input, such as robot control, camera pan-tilt systems, gaming interfaces, drones, or any Arduino-based interactive hardware project.
Built with two potentiometers (10kΩ)—one for each axis—it outputs a voltage between 0V and 5V depending on the stick’s position. The center position of the joystick outputs approximately 2.5V on both axes. The onboard push-button function adds a third control dimension for enhanced input options.
Key Features:
Analog Control: Two-axis (X and Y) analog input using potentiometers
Digital Button: Z-axis switch triggered by pressing the joystick down
Voltage Range: 3.3V to 5V (fully compatible with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
Output Signals:
VRx (X-axis): Analog voltage
VRy (Y-axis): Analog voltage
SW: Digital button output (LOW when pressed)
Easy to Interface: Standard 5-pin header (GND, +5V, VRx, VRy, SW)
Durable PS2-style thumb grip for precise and comfortable movement
Dimensions: Approx. 34mm x 25mm
