GY-271 HMC5883L 3-Axis Digital Compass Module – Magnetometer Sensor for Arduino, Drones, and Navigation Projects (3V–5V Compatible)
The GY-271 HMC5883L Magnetometer Module is a high-performance 3-axis digital compass sensor designed for precise magnetic field detection and heading orientation in embedded electronics and robotic systems. Built around the HMC5883L chip by Honeywell, this compact module can measure the magnetic field strength in the X, Y, and Z axes, making it ideal for digital compasses, GPS navigation enhancement, autonomous vehicles, and robotic direction control.
Operating over an input voltage range of 3V to 5V, the module is fully compatible with most microcontrollers, including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, STM32, and others. It communicates via the I2C interface, making integration simple and efficient with open-source libraries readily available.
The GY-271 offers high sensitivity and stable performance, with an internal 12-bit ADC that converts magnetic field data into accurate digital output. Its small size and low power consumption also make it suitable for portable and battery-operated devices.
